Flexible HD Video Color

BrightScale, formerly Connex Technologies, creates breakthrough high-performance, low-power programmable “systems on a chip” that allow HD TV OEM manufacturers to create on-the-fly proprietary color settings for market-specific digital signal processing based on vertical market or country preferences. Some Asian markets, for instance, prefer video reds to be more pink, conversely, in the U.S., reds are preferred to more true red, etc.

BrightScale engaged Landkamer Partners to create a brand identity program that would capture the flexibility and customization that the BrightScale chip set provides and clearly communicate to OEMs they are a viable, breakthrough choice for the next- generation HD TV video processing chip sets.

Issues

BrightScale management requested that the brand identity materials should avoid projecting an image that is too esoteric or high-end as that would be offputting to the target audience purchase decision makers. Approachability was key, as BrightScale needed credibility to break through barriers of acceptance by large, multi-national OEM HD TV manufacturers.

Results

The Landkamer Partners team created a symbol of HD TV screen proportions that embodies the vitality and entertainment excitement of HD TV video along with a “swirling flexibility” attribute. We also developed a mini-ad campaign the ran throughout the web site to further augment the features of the BrightScale chipset at a glance. BrightScale’s proprietary technology was recently acquired.
